“Black Mirror meets its match” tells you everything you need to know about the new sci-fi thriller game, Get Even.
Side provided full voice production and writing services for the latest video-game by Polish developers, The Farm 51, published by Bandai Namco Europe. Get Even is a first-person shooter that encourages you to never pull the trigger. The game is full of twists and turns that will make you question every decision you make.
The game’s compelling story and dialogue was written by Iain Sharkey and Stephen Long. The pair have had a writing partnership for 6-7 years, and have co-written a number of shows for the famous illusionist, Derren Brown. Their experience of taking audiences on a journey through tricks and puzzles paid off enormously. Throughout the game you will be trying to piece everything together and figure everything out. However, you might not always be aware that you’ve made a decision until its too late, and then you realise, every decision you make has consequences.
The writing was complemented beautifully by a very talented group of actors, who were guided by the equally talented Side performance director, Damien Goodwin. In the more emotional scenes, all actors were in the sound booth together, which allowed them to play off one another and provide real emotion to every scene, which was insisted upon by award winning sound designer/composer Olivier Deriviere.
The proof is in the pudding. Get Even received great reviews on its initial release, gaining over 70% on Metacritic and 7/10 on Steam.
